Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1991, the Federal Eastern District Court of Michigan in 1993, the Federal Western District Court of Michigan in 1994, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1994. She was also admitted to the Florida Bar in 2002.

Experiences: Past member of the University of Detroit Law Review and the Frank Murphy Honor Society. Served a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Patricia J. Boyle of the Michigan Supreme Court. Received her nursing experience as a staff nurse and as the Clinical Nurse Manager of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital’s Medical Intensive Care Unit in Ann Arbor, a 558-bed acute care facility. Was appointed to serve on the Ethical Issues Committee of the American Burn Association for 2006-2007.
